Andy, I would love some more specific locations. Is it legal to post a phone number on here? I am listed in the Mooresville book so if not, give me a call. I would also love to try that bow fishing with you some time. I have seen it in Florida but never here. I also know of a cove on north end of the lake that we have seen the Gar in there many times when striper fishing in the Fall. We even call it "Gar cove" I bet you know it also..... thanks Bill

NCbowfish you should consider checking out the Riverbend steam station hothole. Mtn. Island @ hwy 16. Saw bunches of gar last weekend porpoising around in front of the canal. Dissapointing to us bass fisherman to look everytime one pops up near you. Think you`d like it though.:) We`re not out there at night much but I`ve seen some big ones over the years. I suspect it`s gonna get thicker with them real soon. Ton of carp spawn in there too.

Bill the temp has been ranging from 49-53 all week long, and there are plenty of largemouth on the point of davidson and work creek. working jigs and spoons off of the point. fish it from the davidson side though, it gets pretty shallow across the other side. hope it helps, let me know how it goes.

As the season progresses the bass will start to move shallow and up the main lake points looking for spawning areas. They will be feedin up on crawdad, minnows and the wiley lures of the fisherman. \\

Cast rattletraps, minnow plugs or spinnerbaits. Multiple lures are designed for the spring fishing.

good luck

Stu the wind on lake norman was crazy all day 25-35+ my brother and i went out in our little 14 foot jon boat, which didn't work very well. the waves on the main channel were pushin 2ft. we couldn't stay in one spot. we ended up in a tiny cove with two of the tournament guys who hadn't caught anything all day. and for all of our trouble we got 2 bass that weren't even a pound each:mad: But hey at least we caught fish.
