Traveled 5 minutes to fish Lake Pine with my dog in tow. First cast with a teenie torpedo an osprey came out of the trees above us and swooped down on it but fortunately didn't take it. It flew out over the lake and found a more suitable meal Picked up a 2lb bass on a 2" curly grub and then a small crappie which I fed to my dog. He had been whining since I released the bass so that shut him up. Talked to another angler that's had mixed luck lately but he said he did pull an 8 pounder last week. At dusk there were loads of bats feeding on insects over the lake. Not a bad evening for right in town...

I remember a time years ago fishing with my Dad and he cast a crankbait into a little pocket. A barn owl swooped down on it and nearly got it before he reeled it under the surface. He kept casting back into the pocket and he got the owl to fly down on the lure 4 or 5 more times before it got bored and left.
