Late Report - Late Season Stripers on the Roanoke

Sorry for the late report. We fished with Capt. Mitch Blake of FISHIBX Charters on June 18th. Awesome day on the river. Fished in the Jamesville area for the stripers coming back down the river post spawn. We fished prespawn with Capt. Mitch in December. He told us to come back for the post spawn for some fun on top water. He did not disappoint. River was full of fish, many feeding on top. Shad were running for their life. Looked more like the Cape than Roanoke River. We boated 40 stripers. The largest was around 6 lb on the fly.


We were also catching them on spinning tackle. Many in the 16"-18" range.
