I suspect that is the John that use to run Martyn's Sea and Stream fly shop in Durham. He has a good bit of fresh and saltwater experience and has been doing some guiding for false albacore in recent years. Was a trout guide in earlier years in Missouri or Arkansas???? He use to assist guides Brian Horsely and Sarah Garder with weekend fly fishing clinics at Manteo... The clinics were excellent for folks wanting to learn the basics of saltwater fly fishing and casting. The casting was alway a major segment of the weekend and all three participated in the casting coaching and instruction. John was very helpful to me learning the double-haul and fine-tuning points of my casting, as were Sarah and Brian. I see him occasionally at the fly fishing shows and sometimes chat on the radio when we are looking for Albies off Morehead. I would think that it should be a very good class and well worth the time and energy.

Thanks Richard that's what I was hoping. We fish out of Morehead but have a place at Salter Path and wanted to try fly fishing in the skinny water back in the sound. Looking forward to just a little warmer weather.
