I first came on hear 7 or 8 years ago.At time fust had a 8in schl 80 21foot long droped on me.I was eatting pain pills like crazy.I could have lost the use of my legs.The good loard was with me ,I stoped it saved a mans life that fell under it. Well when all said and done,they gave me limetsOnly lift 50lbs nomore,sit walk stand as needed for pain.Pipe fitter welder 38 yrs.One thing I did learn theres no job like that in the real world.So after a trying to find that job ,I went back to pipe fitting welding was out .Unable to bend over for long.I have stayed with it as long as I can,I went out week befor last.For the last and a half when I walk my right leg goes numb.But some times so does my left one now.My back never stops hurting now.Had mri done monday.not good doc said i need to some place for pain treatment.That that might help? New limets is 20 to 25 lbs sit walk stand as needed.What the heck am I sapose to do,I"m lost guys.I did this to my self to work and pay bills. do not fish to munch anymore back hurting the way it does.the same with deer huntting. what do you think

Look into chiropractic and/or see a Dr. of Osteopathic medicine. Osteopathic is a little different, but it might just do the trick for you, and you can't get addicted to it either. Sorry to hear about all the pain you're in, best of luck.

Be careful about pain medications. Sometimes they are a must but long term can have it's issues too. Best of luck. Hope you can at least get back to fishing a little.

pain pills i don"t like .The only time I will take one is when it hurts so bad I can"t stand it.I have seen all kinds of doctors.I don"t know if i can go on disbil or not,I am a diabetic as well no thyroiud gland on a pill for it as well.suger we are working on.Do"nt know why but suger been running crazy jumping up and down big time.

Pain is hard man. It is easy to let it consume you. But the truth of it is you have to find joy in the little things when it gets bad.

It is time to push for disability. NO shame in it. You worked hard in your life, put money in the system and now it is time for the system to pay you back. It will be nerve racking and you will get turned down the first time almost certainly. You might even need a lawyer to help but you can qualify. Age, location, education all my hinder you in getting reliable employment and the govt is aware of this and will help you but only if you push for it and never take no for an answer. Meanwhile, if you own a welder, posy an ad on Craigslist that you can do small jobs for people, fixing farm equipment, lawn furniture anything that needs a weld or 3 and make a little cash as your back allows. See a pain specialist and ask him about steroid injections and radio therapy. They killed a nerve bundle in my back and it helped me ALOT!.. Simple procedure too. Be careful with pain meds, they are very addictive. Stick with regular Ibuprophen or Aleve as much as possible. Accept your limitations but don't stop moving. Keeping your other muscles strong helps support your back and staying mobile helps your mind. But immediately go to the Social Security office and start the disability process, even short term temporary disability can help.

My wife just got approved recently for her disability. It took a lawyer and a year and a half, but she finally got approved and got back payments for the time she had to wait. She had major surgery, with 2 rods and 28 screws (14 vertebrae involved). Surgery didn't do her much good though. There is now laser surgery for some back issues, might want to check into that as an option. Also, a spinal stimulator helps some folks with the pain. Best wishes in your quest.

For what it's worth, my father has bone spurs and suffers from a lot of back pain (he's in his 70s). He gets steroid injections about every 6 months... they help tremendously. And I second the warning about pain meds. Potentially extremely habit forming.

Got a friend that repairs furniture, and I think he needs someone to call and set up his appointments. As for pain meds, I am on hydrocodone for my knees, and Mary is on Oxycodone for her back. Both of us need them to get by, especially her, so we know what you're going through. I will talk to my friend and send you a private message.

I did sighn up,They said it looked good fore me.1 thing is I do not have a thyroid gland,in most people thats ok.But because of that my heart went into highperfibalation for 4 mounths.The Doctors say it can do it again at anytime,Doc says my back is shoot no liften anything over 25lbs.Pain pills I don"t like at all.When they tell me to take them now ,I tell them about my heart problem that changes thing for the good.So If I have to fight for it I will.But most people have to fight for it.True my hole life i put into it.But our gov" does not know how to handel a check book.They don"t want to give it up.They over spend and need it to to cover up there messes.
