Need some suggestions for a good place to camp maybe around Jacksonville along the New River or even down towards Sneed Ferry. Not real familiar with the area but would like to try and do some fishing in that area. Thanks for the help everyone, have a Great 4th of July and be safe.

Cedar point campground or Oyster point are 2 that I use in that area.

George it sort of depends upon what you consider a campground. Most around here are mobile home parks for travel trailers including the one next me. Inland folks pull their campers down and leave them permanently. There are several of these in the Jax. and Sneads Ferry area. The only one I can think of on the river would be at the Sneads Ferry bridge. From the 210/172 intersection turn left back towards Camp Lejeune and just before you get to the bridge is Olde Ferry Rd. There are two campgrounds there. Now if you are looking for a campground with trees Cedar Point Campground in Croatan National Forest at Cape Carteret would be your best bet as it has electricity and hot showers. Other places would be near Haywoods Landing but this is a primitive site with only 3 or 4 sites and vault toilets and the same at Oyster Point which is on the North River near Newport. You could also stay in the campgrounds at Stella and be near/on the White Oak .

Thanks for the info, I was looking for one that might have some campers for weekend rentals at a pretty decent price. I've kinda got past the primitive camping, but if any have some nice camp sites with electrical hookups and nice showers that might be a good consideration later on in the fall. Does the one next to you have some campers for rent or maybe if you know someone that rents their campers out on occasion would be nice also. Thanks again for the information Speckhunter80.
