I bought an Elite 7-HDI unit last year with Downscan, I messed around with it a little but I really want to master it. I can tell its an amazing tool but I really want to get serious use out of it. Any advice on where I can find excellent tutorials on the Settings, reading the sonar, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

Lowrance has a user forum for those kind of things...you can also do a search on you tube and find pretty much anything you want...

Doctor Sonar is the best one out there. He also has a DVD series as well, and you can find some info on youtube with this guy, but most info is on the DVD's. They go way in depth on them.

The youtube videos are good but I cant find any that discuss the different color palettes and their applications and also the fine tuning adjustments for the frequencies and sensitivity. Any links anyone can provide?

In most cases everything on the default setting and auto will work great.
