Looking for offshore crew for April

5064 Views 31 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  GWmarty
My wife will be out of town with the kids in Apr, and I'm itchin to get out.

If I still have the boat by then, I'd like to "stretch her legs".
Right now I think I've talked Topsail Angler into goin out with me out of Wrightsville...

so, thought I'd throw out an invite for some NCAngler folks who'd might be interested in an offshore trip with us.

Game plan would be some trollin and groupah diggin! :) If we luck up on good weather, plan on headin out to the stream.

If anyone might be interested pm me and we'll try an set somethin up.
3 more folks would be the slots I got.

Of course anyone interested in the boat... well.. would be a perfect time to "demo" her for ya! :) Let me know!

I just sent you a PM. I'd be interested if the schedule works with the day you guys are going. Thanks for asking! ;)
I'm in for sure... Well as sure as I can be at this point....lol

Oh - and I can vouch for his boat - it is a sweet riding FISHING MACHINE!
If we can get Randy out with us, I promise to cruise her as I know he's had back issues. Throttled back like Mike say's, she's a good ride.

No need to worry on gear.. all that will be available.

If I have the tank top'd off, no worries on fuel either as I'll have to run some out... snacks, soda's and bait... that's pretty much all we'll need.

Guess I better get my saltwater license too... I havent done that yet. Anyone purchase the NC Sportsman license with the saltwater deal??? I'll probably check it out a little later here..... gotta split... tommorrow's Valentines day... so gotta run to the store for momma's goodies... (dont forget y'all!!!)

As soon as I have a pinned down date, I'll let ya's know... waitn on the wif to book her and the boys flight right now.

If mother sea lets us, we'll run it for sure!

Yeah, funny I almost forgot we were runnin what Mike, 30mph in at least 6's that one trip comin back in? Wasnt too bad bumpy wise,, just that dang X wind with spray... After Brad chummed, we were pretty much done. SHortest offshore trip ever I think.. still managed to drop out lines though... that was pretty impressive for the "soup".
 6 footers is a small craft advisory down south of Bama. I decided I would join up and chime in here since I was a visiting.
Hi Tums! Great to see you online again. Welcome to NCangler.com. ;)
What up brother Tums.
Come on up and getchya some of this here Carolina weather! ;)

Hey, Called Ricky to let him know we're a go for June. You, Doc, Todd, Chuck and my boy and I... etc.. dates are good. Drop Rick a call if ya can. He said he'll set up dock space for ya.

6 ft'rs with a sheared off throttle control right! ;)

Yeah - it was soupy that day but the boat handled it well - only one bump the whole ride. But man it was a WET ride. I was soaked! No problem in July - but this April with the chiller water, I hope its a little calmer...lol
Thanks NC and hope everything is going well with you and yours.
Dave I will make it up there one day brother. I talked with Rick the other day and let him know we will be there and are planning on docking right next to him if possible. Looking forward to seeing you all then. It looks like Kenworth and Caterpillar are going to want me & doc to do a couple of trips taking them in April, May, Sept. & Oct.. It is looking like I may get about 8 free 3 day weekends of fishing this year. ;)
Later
Alright, got it narrowed down to either the first or second weekend in April.

So far, Mike, Randy, Martin and myself are in... Got 2 slot's open if someone would like to join us.. let me know.
2nd slot filled, Forrest will be joining us... :)

ALRIGHT - this is shaping up to be one awesome crew. FISH BEWARE!
Alright, one slot left. I'll reserve it for a NCAngler site member until the end of this week.

It's great to have the opportunity to post, help and recieve help and tips from folks on here and will more than likely be my last run with this current boat. I like gettin out an puttin faces to names.. so if you interested let me know.

Right now I have a guy on standby, but I wanted to give NCAngler member a shot first.
After Sunday, I'll probably add Dennis to our crew if noone takes the slot. Incase a someone fall's off our crew, Dennis is a shoe in anyway and I'll probably have one slot for the other standby as well (2 standby guys).

I cant promise you'll catch a fish,,, but everytime we've gone out, 99.999999% of the time we've boated somethin' and it's usually worth while ;) I'm sure we'll have a real good time as long as the weather cooperates

Alright guys, here's the date

7 Apr 07

It'll be:
Forrest
Randy
Mike
Dennis
Martin
Dave
Would like to have one person for a standby slot incase someone drops out.

Bus will leave my house at 3:00 am.
Dennis, Martin and I'm guessin Randy will ride down with me (Randy I'll get with you on that and directions)
We'll meet Forrest and Mike at the ramp in Wrightsville off 76 at 5:00 a.m

boat in the water and out the inlet by 5:30
Come back in when we limit out or two hours before sundown (head back at 5-6 pm.)

Bring, sunscreen, what you want to drink/eat (plenty of cooler space)
Rain gear if forcast calls for it

Randy will be bringing 6 combo's and the rest I've got taken care of, so no worries on tackle or gear.

We're good on boat fuel and oil as all tanks are top'd off.

Only thing we'll need to split is the cost on bait and ice (plan on 12 ea. 16 lb bags at about $1.50 a bag for the ice), Mike and I probably need to work out what baits we're gonna use and cost on that, when we find out we'll let y'all know.

So there it is,, I'm gonna put it in stone as of now. 7 Apr 07... Keep up them prayer's for some excellent weather and seas!!!! ;)
