Lowrance HDS-7 Gen 2-UPDATED w/Purchase

Would this be to much fish finder for a kayak? Lowrance is currently running a $300 rebate on these units.

I have a Gen1 and Gen2 HDS 7 on my boat and pretty pleased with them. I am not a kayak guy but I cant see it being overkill. A bigger screen gives you a bigger and more detailed picture, especially useful if you are using split screens.

Ok I went in a different direction. Yesterday I ordered from BassPro a Garmin echoMAP 50dv Sonar/Chartplotter Combo with Garmin LakeVu HD Maps and Transducer. Now I need to pickup the YakAttack CellBlok so I can mount it to the track system on the Native.
