This morning I found lots of rock feeding on the smallest minnows you've ever seen.

I threw everything in my bag, with no success. When I cast on the bank where the fish were feeding I could see minnows popping everywhere.

Any advice for this? Besides "buy minnows"? Lol

Yozuri 3ds minnow is tiny and is found to be irresistible when fish are on small bait. Another great option is a mirrolure MirroGlass 9mr. 2 inch curly tails work well here as well. My last trick in the bag is a small clouser minnow trailed about 6 inches behind a Topwater popper such as a chug bug.

I am always surprised when large fish have keyed in on small baits, but it happens. Your first thought is, "Man they are biting those tiny things I know they are gonna love my nice big bait!" .....Not always the case. I've seen trout do that too.

^^^^ yep, the trout keyed in on small baits this last winter in a few creeks off the Neuse. They were eating really small minnows. Small baits like xrap 6's Rapala ULM and 3ds minnows were all they would touch.

Thanks trigger, I remember seeing the topwater trailing bait once. Oh well, time for another trip to the tackle store

Besides what the others have mentioned, Walmart carries some prerigged small Storm swim baits (2") which I have done well with when they focus on those small baits. I hate when they get locked in on smaller bait!
