So, i went today and all that i was catching close to shore where good size shad 15 in , but went back at about 2 and people were catching stripers left and right. They used brim to catch em all about 2xin and larger, largest i saw was about 30-33 inches . At the mountain island dam(trailrace area) all i saw were huge schools of shad/herring.. 2 in long swimming around the rocks... hopefully next time i'll be prepared .

Word yesterday was perch of good size still being caught (alot) at the dam. 2 hook bottom rigs and cut shad.

is that at the trailrace park fishing area or on the other side on the lake itself?

That is at the bottom of the dam. (tailrace) There is an access spot for fishing. That is the very top end of Wylie. Get there off of hwy 273.

Yeah i figured people were gonna catch something.. alot of boats right on the dam .. plus the huge schools of bait fish=FUN!
