Hey guys we will be at our family house Memorial Day on the water off of gales creek and was wondering if the drum or trout would still be in these areas this time of year? I know the highway 24 bridge can hold trout in the fall/winter but had not fished the month of may down there. Thanks!

Trout and drum should both be holding in those waters at that time. Trout (Specs) are not migratory but rather overwinter in deep holes back deep in the creeks. This time of year look for them to be near points or bottlenecks in moving water as trout are inherently lazy and will sit on the edge of a fast moving current looking for bait to be swept by. Drum are going to be tailing the shallows picking up crabs or laid up against some structure (ledges and drop offs, pilings, piers, etc.). Have fun at it, you're in a good spot!
