This is a call for Volunteer Captains...MAD MHC Boat Registration is open! (So is general volunteer registration)

We've reached an exciting milestone in our event planning. With about 90 days to go before our 2022 event, we've opened boat registration on our website. The direct link is: http://militaryappreciationday.net/morehead-city-chapter-bo….

This is where the rubber meets the road. After a successful event last year, we hope to grow the event this year in numbers of boats and troops hosted.

Because many decisions need to be based on anticipated numbers of captains, crew and troops capacity, we ask that you register as early as possible.

Finally, for now, please pass the word to fellow skippers. Word of mouth in our tight fishing community is very effective in bringing new skippers onboard.

We look forward to seeing you at this year's event, which promises to be a great one.

If you have specific questions or trouble registering, please email me at [email protected].

If you are unfamiliar with what MAD is, check out this link: What Is MAD, Military Appreciation Day? | Military Appreciation Day

Thanks,
Chris

As of today we have 23 boats registered and our goal is 75.

The sooner folks sign up the sooner we'll know how many troops we can host. That will also help us with planning for food and what not. No need to wait until a week before the event to see what the weather will be like to sign up. You know damn good and well you can predict what the weather will be like on June 4th today just as good as you can a week before the event. :)

OK folks, we are just under 6 weeks out until this event and we still needs lots of captains! We currently have 43 boats signed up and are trying to get to 75 or so.

If you are planning to fish please sign up as soon as possible as it helps us with planning. We will be opening up troop registration soon and the troops are chomping at the bit to sign up. If you are available to take a group of troops out on June 4th, please sign up!

Here's the link to register as a captain: Morehead City Chapter: Boat Volunteer Registration | Military Appreciation Day

You DO NOT need to be a licensed captain to volunteer your boat. All you are doing is taking a group of troops out fishing for the day, just like you do with your buddies. You can also write off all expenses for the day as a charitable contribution.

OK folks, we are just a month away from this event and we still need boats. We are currently sitting at 48 boats plus the Carolina Princess, for a total capacity of 215 troops. I know gas prices are high, but your expenses for this event are tax deductible. We are striving to get to 75 boats and/or capacity to host at least 300 troops this year. If you are on the fence or have questions please reach out to me so I can convince you to participate

We are just 3 weeks away from this event and we need more boats.

Current status:
52 volunteer boats that can accommodate 150 troops
Carolina Princess that can carry 70 troops
Total capacity currently: 220 troops

Last year we had over 320 troops register. If that holds true this year we are going to have to turn a ton of people away if we dont get more boats.

If you can help, even if you just help spread the word, please do. We don't want to turn these folks away, we want to take them out and show them a great day on the water.
