I find solunar tables (bite times) useful. Not a gold standard but useful along with other information when planning a trip.
The bite time charts here on NC Angler are great. In case you weren't aware - the times listed as major and minor times are the CENTER of the bite period. A major period is one that lasts for 2 hours or more and a minor one lasts about 1 or so. So if the a major bite time is listed as 10:30 - the bite should be best between 9:30 and 11:30, give or take some time depending on how strong/weak the lunar influence is on that particular day (indicated by stars).
