My brother, a buddy and myself decided to give MIL a try since it was so nice out on Saturday. Took the john boat out, got a few dozen minnows and messed around a couple places I am fond of on the lake. My brother struck first with a couple bluegills, I missed a few strikes, then I doubled up on something nice. Turned out to be my new PB bass, 18" or so and a great fight. We moved on to a few other spots, my brother was able to catch one on a crankbait. Finally near the end of the day we got closer to the ramp and dropped some minnows down, after a couple small bass I hooked up into my biggest MIL crappie, nearly 13". I could tell there was a nice school below me, but it was time to go get ready for NYE and we had a good day already. Good way to finish the year off. For those of you that fish the lake, youll know where I caught the bass from my pic. Water temp was around 50 the whole time. All fish were caught on minnows (except one) fished ~20 ft down.
