Put in at Neck Road in Mt. Island Lake this afternoon. Unfortunately all the morning cloud cover dissipated making for typical summer conditions. Hot and sunny. Good amount of recreational boaters out there so we worked some coves and I picked up a couple of largemouth but it was tough fishing. Tried cranks, spinnerbaits, fluke, all with no luck. A Texas rigged 6 inch Culprit in chartreuse/motor oil was the only thing working. Early evening when traffic died down we found the spots just off the bank of the main channel in 6-8 feet of water and boated 8 or so between the two of us within an hour. Great water clarity, lots of cover and healthy lookin fish.

Saw a guy in a sweet looking skiff, complete with a poling platform, flyfishing out there. Thought it might be someone on this forum. Any ideas?
