This is 2 we use a lot in low light, windy/rainy, murky/muddy water conditions. There are others but they have already been mentioned.

Top one is a Mirrolure C20MR 808, it is a suspending, rattling bait that displaces a lot of water, gives a lot of flash. The other is a Rapala Twitching Rap in Copper Flash color. It is deep copper color on top, a copper side with a orange belly. Twitching Raps are getting very hard to find in tackle stores. They quit making them a couple years back. Scuttlebutt is they will start making them again next year....we will see.

This past Wednesday with all the hard winds and heavy rains in the Jacksonville area, we used these and were culling by 9am. Even with rain suits we were soaking wet and the thunder rolled.

Saw one of those crosslocks stretched out straight a couple weeks ago. It might have been a cheapo but it sure made me doubt the things. What size & brand do you use?

I don't use them. I painted a few of these and this one was on my buddy's rod so snapped a pic of his. He likes em but I prefer to tie mine on. I had one straightened out before also so I don't bother with them.

I use Mustad KVD Duolock snaps. They are size 0 and rated to 30 pounds. I've hooked and landed old drum on them while trout fishing and have caught countless specks and pups on them. I snagged a jig on a stump a few weeks ago. Was in deep water and couldn't get it out. Pulled tight on it and it came free. The hook bent but the snap stayed in place.

Any particular lure you limit that size to? Are they to big for mirrolures? They would make switching lures a lot faster.
