Battle scars! This one was brand new on Wednesday View attachment 67558
I totally agree, I have never retired anything that was still working scuffs and scratches just add characterI'll retire this one when it breaks off in a stump. The worse they get beat up the better they work.
Thought you hung that one on the wall in memory of the day you outfished me.I retired the big ugly from that M&G weekend. It got beat up way to bad.
Saw one of those crosslocks stretched out straight a couple weeks ago. It might have been a cheapo but it sure made me doubt the things. What size & brand do you use?

I use Mustad KVD Duolock snaps. They are size 0 and rated to 30 pounds. I've hooked and landed old drum on them while trout fishing and have caught countless specks and pups on them. I snagged a jig on a stump a few weeks ago. Was in deep water and couldn't get it out. Pulled tight on it and it came free. The hook bent but the snap stayed in place.Saw one of those crosslocks stretched out straight a couple weeks ago. It might have been a cheapo but it sure made me doubt the things. Any particular lure you limit that size to? Are they to big for mirrolures? They would make switching lures a lot faster.I use Mustad KVD Duolock snaps. They are size 0 and rated to 30 pounds.
