Myrtle Grove Sound Kayak Report

Thanks to JohnnyC for info on where to park and put-in. On Sunday, I went out off Peden Point in Myrtle Grove Sound. Caught a 23 and 15 inch flounder on tail-end of the outgoing tide. That was in the first hour. Tide changed and never had another bite- except the skate I caught on cutbait. Caught the larger flouner on live bait and the smaller on a root-beer colored swimmer on white jighead.

This is a great area for kayaking. You have to cross the ICW to get to the sound, but that's easy. I saw 4 boats the whole time, one of which was clamming, another checking his pots and 2 more heading to Masonboro Island. Looks like lots of good grasslines toward the island at high tide. The boats can only maneuver during high tide.
