Bought my first boat some months ago.
An old Bayliner that I am using to fish High Rock Lake.
But where have the fish gone in this hot weather.
We were out for 4 hours today and only caught one decent crappie.
Tried minnows and minnows behind a jig.
Can anyone post any tips???

Well you've got two choices. Stake out a brush pile in around 15' of water and verticle jig with some small stuff or troll drop offs and channels early in the morning or in the evening. We usually switch to catfish this time of year. But that has been tough too. Just a weird year I believe. You could all ways go down to flat swamp and drift some jigs and minnows down the deep rocky bank. Normally you can pick up some nice bream and a few white bass in that area. It drops off pretty quick from the bank so you don't have to get out to far just be ready for the boat traffic, sometimes it turns into a washing machine out there.
