Need some help on some research

Does anyone know what would be running up around Drum Inlet in September. Also, does anyone have any idea how long it would take to kayak from Buford to the barrier islands and then on up to Drum Inlet? This is just research, I do not plan on making the trip....... unless I try sailing it on my Adventure Island.

I've got a book "Guide to Sea Kayaking in NC", but the closest route it describes goes from Harker's Island over to Cape Lookout Nat'l Seashore. That launch is a little bit east of Beaufort.

BTW, Beaufort, NC is pronounced "bow-fort", with the "bow" pronounced like "bow and arrow". Beaufort, SC is pronounced more like what you were thinking when you spelled it Buford.

Drum inlet is directly across Core Sound from Atlantic, NC, which is about a 40 minuite drive east of Beaufort on hwy 70E. Your catch will be flounder, spots, puppy drum, and trout. Try a little clamming while you are there.
