I've often wondered that myself as I pass over that area on the way to town. Also does anyone know if there's a map of access points for the greenway? Maybe I should do a little online research or maybe this is the research. What better place to learn of fishing opportunities than a well respected fishing site.
Neuse River under US 401/greenway Raleigh
Any luck fishing there or along that greenway? Is it even allowed along the greenway?

suggests that you can fish but not that anything is there.
Might give it shot around 2 tomorrow with some live bait and plastics.

Tried to go there today. It was closed on Horse Shoe Farm Rd where I planned to park, under construction. Not sure how long but it don't look that will be open any time soon. So I went across town to NC 98 where WRC has a spot on NC-98.
A few folks where fishing so I kept walking down a little further. 35.976990, -78.630687
Used a Gamakatsu weighted hook with a big bite green pumpkin tailed worm, no bites but only had an hour. Did see two white tail deer and got to fish so not a total loss.

on buffalo road before i 540 coming from new hope road there is a place before the bridge make a right before the pumpng staion and follow the road it goes right down behind the pumping staion and there is about 10 or so parking places and the greenway is right there there is a couple of spots that are pretty clear to launch a canoe from or fish i plan on taking my golf cart and ride the greenway back toward my house from there and do some scouting

I am beginning to think the City of Raleigh doesn't want me fishing the river. The gate was locked. Went to my usual spot to work on casting. Got a bite but nothing else.
