I'm catching stripers near New Bern in the Neuse and I am offering $50 off a half day this week to fish them. Openings 13, 14, 16, 17, and 18. I will also fish for shad up river near Pitch Kettle for the same discount...the fishing has been good.

Been catching fish on top dog, jr's early and late and 3/8 oz lead head and white DOA jerk bait during day time. Had a good morning...Sunday March 12. We put 6 or 7 fish between 3 and 7 pounds and a mess of 14 to 17 inchers as well. Had trouble finding them early but once we did we made up for lost time. Thanks to George Haislip of Jacksonville for a fun morning. I hope some folks will join me this week...in fact I'll extend my discount until March 24. There are specks near Oriental and shad at Pitch Kettle and the discount will go to all those trips.

Pitch Kettle is a bit of a drive, but not to bad. A lot closer than Weldon and I like fishing the Neuse better...not as many fish but just enough to make a good day.
