Can anyone provide tips where to put in around the New Bern area? We have a 20 foot bay boat (about 12-18 inch draft). Not looking for secret hot spots, just best places to launch and we will TRY to figure out the rest. Coming from Raleigh...

Lawson Creek ramp off hwy 70 is the easiest to find and the most ramps/parking space. Stripers around the bridge and upriver along the RR bridge, as you move east salt increases and drum trout can be found. Trent river connects there as well and go upriver for bass cat crappie etc.

Lawson Creek for the New Bern area. You can also google it for better directions.... Like Sundrop said....lots of stripers in the area, check the regulations for them before you go. www.ncwildlife.org
