Also the CG has adjusted the bouys to reflect the shift in the inlet recently.

The Corp of Army Engineers has had it's sidecaster dredge in the back side of the channel cleaning it and the banks connector channel of loose sand. The inlet does have funding in the proposed federal budget to be dredged in 06-07 - let's hope it stays in there - it needs to be it.

Did you see the hole on the south end. I hope they don't fill that in.

Yup been there.

BTW - the big, old red drum are still all over the north end of Lea Island (South side of Topsail Inlet). Any part of that beach from where it takes a slight jog to the west all the way onto the shoals has been good. Also there is a nice trough just south of there too, not shown in the photo.
