hey guys. I'm a new member living in Boone. Most of my time is spent trout fishing all over the mtns. I do a fair amount of bass and cat fishing. I'll be posting all kinds of pics from my travels. If you see anything you like feel free to ask about it and i'll do my best to help you find some of my favorite spots. Look foward to sharing and finding out some great spots and learning some great information.

Welcome aboard! I like that username! We look forward to your posts and pictures. We need more folks from the western part of the state active with us on here. Several of us 'flatlanders' want to learn the art of fly fishing and head to the mountains now and again. ;) In fact, my wife would be a happier woman if we made it to the mountains more. She went to school at Appalachian. :)

Didn't know that.
Howdy neighbor. Welcome. I would be interested also in the waters you are fishing. Probably alot of the same ones I visit.

livetofish, you might not have discovered yet that Nantahala Fly Fishing's real name is Daniel Boone. ;)

My wife is still skeptical that there is a fishing guide in the mountains of NC named Daniel Boone....lol She thinks I'm joking around as usual.
MIKE I'll sign your new rod next week and we'll take a picture of me, holding that huge trout you're going to catch in the nantahala! We'll make a believer out of her.

Daniel - sounds good to me!!!

Rod, guides, reel seat, handle and checks came in. The thread, epoxy and some minor stuff are on backorder, suppose to be here Monday (leaving on Tuesday so I hope so). Can't wait to get started!
Mike, no worries!!

I've got plenty of thread, and should have enough epoxy, and finish, and I know exactly where the huge trout is, I seen him yesterday. All we need is a camera :p

Crummy He's in the DH section, I did see a nice Brown in the big water last week at the first pull-off, below the put-in. We are still catching some wild brown in the lower streches of the DH section, they're not very big but they're beautiful!!!

Hey, NCtrouter, Ive got a client comming up tommorow to chase steelhead in Snowbird and Santeetlah creek. We could fish sunday but the weather looks bad. If not next week maybe we could split the drive and chase wild trout in the Straight Fork.

I like the lower section myself and the area around the waterfall. Sorry livetofish for posting all up in your thread. :) My last trip up I got dropped off at the last bridge before the gorge and fished the entire stretch back to the powerhouse. What a day. I've done this many times.
