Just go to "Photos" via the link on the navigation bar above, then "Upload Photos" from the link in the upper right corner under the "Log out" button. From there you'll be able to select the photos you want to upload. There is a maximum file size of 800x600 and 250kb. If you have a photo imaging program (one should have come with any digital camera that you purchase) you can "compress" or resize the image with that program. Be sure to save the new image with a different name so you don't overwrite your original image.
Also you can attach an image to a post in the forums if you want to show something in a message. That is just a matter of attaching the photo with the "Manage Attachments" button that shows up under the edit window when you post a message.
