Hammerhead,
First of all, welcome aboard. I grew up on bogue sound, and when I wasn't chasing Seabiscuit's daughter (finally caught her

and by far she's been my best catch to date!), I was in the sound or on White Oak River/Pettiford Creek. I haven't fished the sound in several years, but I talked to a buddy a few days ago that has been fishing in the area. Just about any local can and will direct you to the old cape carteret ferry docks if you ask. I understand they've been biting pretty good around the outside pylons. If that doesn't work, there are some deep holes on the cedar point side/emerald isle end of the bridge that has always produced fish. Good luck and watch the sandbars, they've claimed a few yankee props! (sorry, I had to get the yankee thing in at least once

)
