Hey first tim here love to bass fish, am going to try for some specks sunday. I have never fished for them an hints out there. will be fishing around the oak island area. thanks for any info.

trout and drum at OakIsland

Went to Oak Island got a few specks and several puppy drum in the 15 inch range. We were throwing a Berkely Salt Water series shimp natural color. It was a good time.

Yeah those Berkley Gulp baits are hot. Tex's Tackle has sold out 900 bags in like a week and just got 400 more in today - bet they don't last long. By the way, if you get to Wilmington, check out those guys at Tex's - they are the BEST!

I think Berkley must put gummy worms in that Gulp bait and charge 5 times the price....
