Never fished Jordan Lake before, always fished Harris and wanted to try something new. Just looking for some advice on where to put the boat in at. How to fish the lake. What's hot. Basic advice. I know some of you guys are darn near pros. Thanks for the help guys/gals!

Poes is where most of the Fayetteville guys put in as it is easy access off of US1, believe its exit 79. It is pretty close to the Jordan Lake dam and Haw river area of the lake.

Last weekend the fishing was pretty tough. It seemed the fish were kind of scattered, had to cover alot of water and try alot of things to get bit. Shad are moving into the creeks but they didnt seem to have alot of followers yet. Most of the fish I caught were on crankbaits and a few on a carolina rig in 7-12 ft. There can be a good shallow bite right now too as crazy as it may sound.

Fished Wednesday at Jordan. Bass were biting pretty good shallow where you found shad. If it was me, I would take a jig and hit every laydown in the lake .

Took the advice and put in at Poe's last weekend and this weekend. Caught about 12 bass total in about 12 hours of work between Saturdays. All ranging between 1-5lbs. Fish really fight well and seem really healthy here. Everything I caught was either on a Strike King KVD 2.5 Sexy Shad or a C-Rig Speed Craw. Missed a monster on a C-Rig on this lay down in that Channel. Never got a glimpse but it was strong enough to scream about 5 feet of my drag and wrap itself around a tree...luckily I retrived my C-Rig, fish lived to see another day. Awesome time!
