We got to Holden around 3:30pm on the 9th, had a line in the water by 5:00pm. I fished till a little after dark thirty with no luck. I hit it hard every morning trying to do the 2 hour before and after high tide with no luck. Got started around 4:30 am one morning in the surf then moved to the pier around 7:00am and stayed till noon. No luck.
Went back to the pier that night for a few hours, still no luck. I averaged about six hours fishing time a day and came up empty handed with the exception of a few small sharks.(12-15 inch range) Other than not catching anything we had a great time on Holden, already reserved the house for next year. The highlight of the trip was friday when my nephew and I were playing in the waves at low tide and several dolphins came in within 50 ft or so from us. Now I'll trade catching fish for that any day.
