After showing some fishing promise while spending a day with Shu and Pappdave, I thought Wilma might be up for going after some White Perch in the river. I got a 16ft. Ultimate out of the Classifieds here on NCAngler hoping that it would work out for taking the kids out. It actually works great, since she was in no mood to fish we explored the islands just up from 321 and look for shells and pretty rocks on most of the sandy spots in the area. After it started getting hot she tried paddling her little yak. I think she did OK for a first time, but I think I am going to paint the blades on the paddle different colors to see if telling her to paddling red or white makes more sense than paddle on the other side did. Thanks to Grandma for taking the pictures

The only kayak I had any contact with was a homemade plywood skeleton covered with glass cloth and epoxy We never did get it to stop leaking.

I found this one at a yard sale, I broke the kids heart when I loaded it in the truck, but he was too big for it and Mom was determined to get rid of it.
