In a region known for trout, no posts? Deer season is over now and I feel safe to go back in the woods. Not a good idea during season to go on an outing to a native creek. Well, not around here anyway. One of my favorite native trout waters is now scheduled for National Forest logging this coming year. I plan to make several trips before spring. I'm not sure how this will effect the creek but I have to wonder, after all, our native species is in danger. This logging proposal has met heavy opposition and has even had the Forest Service reevaluate their plan. Others in the western region are set for logging also so check what is going on. NC Wildlife theirself has issued articles and warnings of the speckle's decine. Now this from another state office. I have fished this creek since I was young and had some great trips there. I'll try to get some pics. I hope our kids and grandkids can still continue to know the joy of catching such a small giant among fish. Size in this case doesn't matter.
