well we were coming back from the point yesterday, when we got to the bridge we noticed this guy yelling his wife or girl friend to get the net, so when she netted the fish it was a huge, i mean HUGE sheep head the guy said it would go around 7-8 pounds, so we decided to get some fiddler crabs today and try it. well good plan but how the H--l do you get tied off under that dang bridge without tearing your boat up. I Cant understand why there are no slow no wake bouys there, frustrating.

Tie off to the bridge and hang bumpers over the side of ur boat.

Sheepshead fishing is not for those that are worried about banging up their boat. Bumpers, life jackets, old tires, towels etc are all means of minimizing the possibility but nothing is fool proof. FYI, it is illegal to tie up to a bridge or to the port. Many do it and many get away with it, but it's still illegal.

Sheepshead fishing can be tough on your boat, throw in crazy holiday weekend boat traffic.
Wouldn't worry about your boat, it's your safety that you should be concerned with. .......... ICM

Most people will sheephead fish during the week with less boat traffic.

There are plenty of other places to catch sheepshead besides the high rise bridges and port wall. Just gotta be willing to move around till you find them. However I will always try and time it so I am fishing down current and down wind of the piling which helps keep you off the bridge.

We sheepshead fish in the kayaks and have done pretty well. I don't tie up just hold myself in place if i hook a big one its a lot easier to push off the piling and get away from it so I don't break him off
