This is SgtFish. Fossilhub (my Dad) and myself got away for a little fishing today. We fished Sea View Pier and the small bite was on. Combined we caught 40-45 spanish mackeral but only five measured out. They mostly seemed to be in the 9 to 11.5 in. range with biggest being almost 17 inches. Everything came on gold diamond jig setups bounced of the bottom. We saw several large spade fish caught off of shrimp and I lost a very large trout at the top of the water. Early in the day the ocean was full of bait and the water seems to be cooling off. I believe the fall season is starting so get there if you can.

great report....just seems to me like i never catch anything there.....had a BIG shark/cobia on the line that ran out then came back in and broke my rig off wish i could have that one back....

When you can't be there every day, it is easy to have a string of slow days. If you keep plugging along the string of good ones is bound to happen.
