I will be fishing the ICW around Permuda Island and Everett bay the week of July 27th. Is there kayak access at onslow county beach park pavillion marker 12? Is the fishing at the two places any count? And any local tips on spots and tactics for redfish trout etc would be awesome. Thanks!!

There is a kayak access right across from Permuda. I've paddled it but not fished it. It's a very fishy area. If you explore Permuda on foot watch out for the wild hogs.

mile marker 12 also works if you are already out on the island. There was a recent thread where i mentioned I was planning to and someone else tried it. Worked out. I have thrown a cast net there and it's an easy sound side access from the beach access parking on the sound side of the road.

Another good place to check out is all the way at the south end. Good for swimming, kayaking and fishing. Last time I was down I saw some big crevalle jacks there.
