Windy, choppy and muddy. Came down today and will try tomorrow, but the caughts are a couple of pompano, whiting, small blue here and there and croaker. The bite died down in the afternoon.

King fishers are helping me a lot. First time kinging for me. It is a wealth of knowledge here.

It really is a great pier for king fishing. Really welcoming crowd although most piers have someone who will extend a hand to a newbie. Hope you hook a king or cobia tomorrow man. Water temp hit 65.5 today there so you might have something tomorrow. Any menhaden schools today?

Too bad you didn't get to stay longer, the water cleared up over the weekend and by sunday the water was infested with 6,8, and 10 inch blues. I would say it is also a pretty good bet I know one or two of the guys who helped you out on the end. I fish off of ocean crest almost exclusively now and there is usually a great bunch of guys on the end that will help out the newer kingers.

I have never fished at Ocean Crest, but those sure are some nice people running the place. Hawaiian Shaved Ice always helps the mood too. :)

I grew up going to Emerald Isle, Figure 8, and even lived at Wrightsville Beach, but I have really come to love Oak Island the most of all NC beaches now that I have a family. What a great place.
