Offshore Charters - 24 Hour Or More?

1459 Views 7 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Redneck Rocker Dude
I recently went on a 4 hour offshore "tourist fishing trip" in Miami. I had never been offshore, so, for $35 (with coupon) I went out. Surprisingly, I caught a couple non keepers. But, it was fun. We went down for my wife's birthday for a few days and it was kind of her surprise for me. Anyway, my birthday is coming up and she wants me to fish because that's what I love. I've always been a surf fisher. I've scoured the Internet looking for off shore (NC only please) 24 hour or more fishing charters.....

HOLY COW!!! I'm overwhelmed! Reviews don't help and the things I have found here aren't helping either. Can someone point me in a good direction, please? I'd like to stay under $500 but price is not set in stone.

I thought about it last night, I just want to fish as much as I possibly can. So, it may make better sense to do 4-5 shorter trips to different areas and increase my odds of catching some fish. So, drop whatever you can here in terms of suggestions.

Check with the Continental Shelf out of Morehead City. I'm pretty sure they offer extended trips at various times of the year.

Continental Shelf is no longer in Morehead. Moved to North Myrtle Beach.
Thanks! I've looked at both and reviews are mixed. I know that most reviews are from out of state vacationers that "don't get what they think they should" and could be biased. Anyone with experience with any of these places or others? The crew cannot dictate what nature does and fishing can be luck of the draw 98% of the time but I'd like to put my money into a worth while endeavor.
Voyager fishing fleet, used to be in calabash but they're in myrtle beach now. We went out on their 24 hour a few weeks ago and had a blast. Brought home about 100lbs worth of fish. Only $215 a person. Granted, this is a head boat.

This is correct, the continental shelf is now apart of the voyager.
