We decided to hit the Roanoke one last time yesterday seeing how the weather was going to be dreary everywhere. We had picked our bait up and were on the water at 7:30 AM. Fished the same areas as last weekend in the Hamilton area and action was a little slow to start. After boating a few keepers we decided to venture up river for a bit. No action. Went back to spot #2 and waited about a half hour and the action fired up for about an hour. We caught 14 stripers and 2 small cats. Threw back several on the 18" line. Right after capping our 2 person limit off with a 21 incher we hooked up right behind it with one scaring the mess out of the 22" line. She hit the fish lottery and was released. We ran out of bait around 1 PM and headed on in. The Roanoke was very good to us this year and can't wait try them next year.
