Onslow Beach ICW

Fished the waterway from about 11am until dark yesterday. No specific time seemed to be a factor, as most of you noticed it was solid overcast and heavy fog on the coast for the majority of the day. Caught small trout consistently all day on a 1/4oz halo shad casting and letting the current run it up the edge of the drop offs, no keepers though on that lure. In the later afternoon, probably 3-4pm switched to 4" gulp on a jig head using the same casting & free spool method so the current would run the lure up through the edges of the drop offs.. occasionally jigging it to position the lure better. Caught my 4 keepers doing that and got out of there right after the sun went down. Next time I need to bring my rain coat and waders!
