Made our annual trip down to Oriental to play with the big boys Tueday night. We had heard the bite was all the way out to the Pamlico so we made the 10-12 mile run out of Oriental. My son in law Jamie caught one just before dark. The radar showed a storm that was going to be close so we decided to go back in and avoid the lightning.

Next morning we headed back out but decided to stop on a shoal a little closer in and boy it was on for a couple of hours. The two of us landed 7 hard pulling old drum, with 1 double and 1 triple hookup. The triple was a first for us and a little chaotic. Hope you enjoy the pics.

This one got the best of the old man.

Good thing about it was we made it back to town in time for breakfast. Great way to start the day!

Thanks for the blog award guys. If you have never felt the pull of a bull, you need to try it at least one time.
You won't believe the power these fish have. Nothing like it.

Fantastic story and pics. Congrats on the blog award. So far I've only caught their younger sibs. If the older ones pull anything like the much smaller ones for their size, it has to be a great tug.
