Bad sprain. Keep it elevated as much as possible. Ice it down and take plenty of Ibuprophen to control swelling. If you use it, wrap it tight with an ACE bandage, but I would seriously consider staying off of it this weekend. It will make the healing process much faster.
Hang in there man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tim thats a beaut on your foot thats for sure. Man I hate how bad these things hurt, especially pulling the tendons and things around the ankle. It will continue to swell if you don't stay off it some. :eek:

Think sundrop has you covered on the "who for and why for" with keeping it on the down low.:p

Nothing like soaking in salt water:D

Tight lines <*)))))>{

Mmmmmm.........very rough looking! In most cases I would say do what ever you have to, to fish, but I think in this case I would heed the words of wisdom and stay off of that thing for a little bit!

I sure hope that you can recover quickly and staying off of it for a few days might just be the ticket.

Hey Tim, like I posted on the other site at least your boat didnt fall on you!! Hang in there. If your on crutches, you should be off in about a week. Ankle injueies suck, and the only way to get the strength back in them is to excersize the tendons. my foots abouttwice the width still and gotta wear a special boot for it. It helps good, but its a pain, and the bottom of my foot hurts from the nerve damage I have. Mine was a crush injury and takes the longest to heal out of all the injuries. Ice, ibuprophen, and elevation help. Elevation so the blood from the swelling goes back into your body. Sprins are kinda like crush injuries. Just do some searching about your injury on the net and you'll get more info about it than a doc. Its sad really. Hope ya feel better man... Bob

Dude, elevated would be good... ALSO, any injury like that calls for ice for the first 24-36 hours. After that HEAT is recommended. (doctors + nurses in this family)... take care now, you'll be better off.

Ouch Tim! That's a classic turned foot sprain. I used to do that with what seemed like every month playing basketball. My big clumsy butt used to keep black and bruised feet. I always soaked them in Epsom's salt water as hot as I could stand it. Good luck and heal soon.
