I'm interested in fishing the Pamlico and Tar River's - Need some info - ramps, areas to fish, time of year, anything, etc.

Wildlife ramp on Clark's Neck rd gives good access with low docks and much less traffic and sightseers than the Haven' s Garden boat launch in Washington. These are the only 2 ramps I've used. I now that all the tournament bass guys work from the city bridge-upriver ( considered the Tar) mostly because of the brackish nature of the water as you go farther down. Finicky area to fish so far for me, but I am new to the area.
Water temp is low and fishing seems sporatic at best. I went out last Sunday and only caught Crappie with minnows and patience. Gulp,jigs, etc. wouldn't stir anything..

For some reason those river"s fish like dark colored lures like a watermelon or green pumpkin in color. The also like black and blue shad and black silver plastics.
