I'm not a yak'r, but I thought it might be of interest to those who are that the Pamlico/Tar river here in Washington NC looks like a great place to fish in one. There are many little tributaries and islands up and down the river and many great places to get in and out of the water. Fish species are plentiful since we have a feed of fresh and salt water (brackish) so you can catch a Crappie and a Flounder on the same trip... ( I know, I've done it within 5 ft of each other!!LOL) We get Stripers here too and that would have to be fun!!
We even have a little place that has opened that caters to Yaks and also rents them as well as has tours. When I remember the name I'll post it...

Just something I thought I'd share..!! :)

New Yak Place and Yak dock at Washington

They're Inner Banks Outfitters at the Havens Gardens ramps, east end of town. Good light eats and brew next door. Nice people run both. Working to get a good yak launch dock there, one of the "U" shaped ones. Asking to shift the one from the Estuarium to Havens Gardens, repair and relaunch it. Think it will be handier there, and in quieter water, than at the Estuarium. Others thoughts? Tight lines! Baitwaster

Thanks Rick for adding in.... I hope to see Inner Banks do well... and any improvements in regard to water access are a plus to all of us. I have been taking advantage of the election year to "bend some ears" around here in regards to conservation and positive access to all that nature has to offer in this area.. I don't have any connections so to speak but if you tell enough people word gets around...
