The kids first fish of 2023 is his PB 24" trout. I also tied my PB with another 24". Both fish carefully and quickly released. We kept a 20", 20" and a 16" for the frying pan. I want to thank @cbruce41 for sharing guidance and wisdom. Fished from ~noon to 3pm. Water temp around ~2:30pm was 49.5F. We threw many different colors (purple, pink, white) and lure types but all five caught were on 3" zman minnowz space guppy (color) on 1/8 oz heads. Saw two bald eagles flying. Beautiful afternoon in the Pamlico.

Nice report, Chris. So glad to see you guys were able to find some gators and especially happy to see your son was able to land that citation trout. Many thanks for the shout out but I'm just relaying intel and identifying potential sweet spots. You guys are working the retrieves and setting hooks. I am always happy to see C/R for the gators to continue to maintain breeding stock.
