You are right Ben, marines, airmen and sailors have also sacrificed their lives to protect us. We thank all of them for their service!

I think most civilians see the term "Soldier" as generic for military in general. But I see your point...

well being a former soldier i know that the marines would be upset if they were called a soldier, but i still like that saying up there.

I'd like to think of the term (play on words) as:

"American Warrior(s)" - that pretty much covers the military as a whole
