:p I was looking at some photos from our fishing trips here at home, thought I'd share some with you.

Most of them are from Lake Ontario - NY side (salmon & lake trout), where we have land on the Lake. Fish there most of the year, either on the lake, or in the Salmon River (winter).

Hope you enjoy, we did.

It's kinda of funny that people get tired of lake trout and salmon and want to chase bass. I know how it is though. They say variety is the spice of life. People are all different and I never had any luck judging them by their zip code. In fact I have had at least 20 different zip codes. AL

Sharon please allow me to introduce you to our official diplomat, Sinker Man :D.

Nice photos. My Dad's from upstate NY and use to go to the Black River in Watertown every fall to salmon fish. They still allowed "snagging" the last time I was up that way. That is a lot of fun, but I still prefer the zip codes that start with 27 and 28 (Central NC & East):) .

No Snagging Aloud

Years ago, you could snag on the Salmon River as well, seems like its been about the last 5 maybe 6yrs., they've dubbed it illegal. You don't want to get caught doing it either, I've seen many anglers have their day ruined when the guy next to them whips out his i.d., explains that he is a game warden and writes them a ticket or two, then confenscating any catch and returning it to the river.

This Diplomat - who is he? Is he the little guy or the big guy!:p I love it! Teach them young I say, it's all about fishing.

He ain't a pup, but I think he's still young enough to learn a few tricks. He spends a lot of his time teaching us, though!

Parrothead, I guess I thought I was still posting to Sharon's last thread. While I 've never lived in Pa. I have lived in NY for a year and a half and they treated me pretty good. There are even several that I'd like to bring down for some fishing. I'm just afraid they wouldn't go home.:D AL

Southern Hostility er....I mean, Hospitality.....

I know what you mean Al. I spent a couple of winters in Maine, and a lot of my father's family is still in NY. There are great people everywhere. I have just vowed to be as vocal as the guy standing next to me spouting off about how he can't find good _________ "down here" or this how we did such and such back in ______________.

Sometimes I get carried away, sorry . I didn't mean to hi-jack girlfish's post.

Girlfish, we are all very happy to have you join us here! Come down to the coast and I'll volunteer to show you and your family around.

Sinker man, Please don't get me wrong, there are good people everywhere, I have some great family and friends here, I guess I've just been here so long that I feel like it's time that everyone "gets over themselves" and start enjoying life and the people around them that share it with them. Life is too short. I just think that there's alot more that could be said for Southern Hospitality, maybe it should rub off and become American Hospitality, sure would be nice. :p

Parrothead, thank you so much for volunteering, if we do go toward the coast I will certainly look you up, many thanks.

I'm happy to be here.

I found some more pictures that I want to post, there from Alaska. My husband, myself and my father-in-law were there in summer 05. I'll get them up soon. Anyone have any they'd like to share with me. I'd like to see them. I love looking at fishing pictures. They are so inspiring!

Oak Orchard Creek - Nice Fishin'

Zooker,

Nice 2 meet U.

Oak Orhard Creek - we have gone there for Thanksgiving for the past couple of years, very nice fishing. Were also there for Salmon in October 05. We stay at Dollingers Motor Inn in Albion, about 10 minutes from the creek. The 2 photos attached are my husbands (Rick) brown trout catches 03' and 05' Thanksgiving.

I'm not so good with my fly rod yet, so the hubby usually gets the catch when we go to Oak Orchard. Still trying to get the swing of things with the fly rod. I Usually wrap it around myself, or the nearest fisherman or tree, whichever is closer.

Pretty cool that you've fished there and the Salmon River, I'm always amazed at how small this world really is!:)
