My little 3 year old niece has asked me to go fishing with her this weekend. She's so cute that I can't say no. She was sitting around as I was oiling up the rigs last week and told her mom she wanted to go with me. Found a business owned pvt lake that the owner said I could fish with her. But only me and not to tell the locale to anyone. Am looking forward to seeing her with her old school cane pole (no little rod and reel for her until she's old enough to handle a reel one (pun intended). I'm excited for her to have asked me to take her on this first experience.

I don't recall seeing any cane poles lately. You might stop by A.K. McKallum's and ask for a Bream Buster. Which is a modern fiberglas version of a cane pole.

I bought one right before stopping fishing back in 94. It has the piece in the middle to take apart like a regular fishing pole. Never used it though. She'll break it in this weekend.

Wally world in cary had some cane-style poles not too long ago. There's also an article in the "articles" section that talks about using cane poles and real light tackle to never get skunked again.

What A Blast

She had a ball. Caught about 10 bream in this little pond almost all by herself. I think she's hooked on it now. Great fun.

Yeah. Got out there and got the license, now just have to get the wife to allow me a day to go fishing. *gosh durn yard work*
