Can’t seem to find black drum anywhere this spring. I thought they were supposed to be coming to the coast strong by now, but I have tried on structure both in the Neuse, and near the ocean with no success. I have tried these areas on several different tides. Any tips on where and when to find them?

Yea I’ve tried a bit of everything, mostly structured areas. I’m wondering if all the rain from a few weeks ago has kept them out of rivers.

I've always found fishing for them at night to be best. Near structure, at night, with chunks of blue crab and if they're there they will let you know quickly. We have absolutely hammered them in my area for over a month now.

Sand fleas in the wash will do the trick.
