Headed to Umstead before the rain got too heavy on Sunday and I'm glad I did. Fiesty 1# lmb on the 3rd cast. Caught a few more as I worked along the bank into a cove. Most hit a roostertail on a very slow retrieve but one hit a senco. Nothing on various cranks. When the rain finally got steady and I got hungry I headed toward home. I decided to give the first spot a few more casts. I let the rt run as deep and slow as I could and the strike felt more like a snag until it slowly pulled away. Clear water let me get a nice look as this big fish made a few shakes and runs. Nothing fast but good strong pulls taking some line. Got her in, a quick photo, measure, and weight before she swam away. 19" fat and 4#.
