Fished a small 10 boat tourney at Randleman (electric only)today. Fishing was still pretty tough, not many bites. Most boats reported 5-10 bites all day, but the bites were pretty good sized.

First had 24-6, second had 22-0, third had 21 pounds. Big fish was 8-15.

10 boats= 176 pounds of fish
That's a 17-6 pound average for each boat
50 total bass weighed for an average of 3 3/4 pound each.

Fish were caught on a little bit of everything. The bite is going to pick up soon and it is going to be on!!!

Just out of curiosity, what was the water temp and clarity doing versus the tourney the week before? I know the electric side will outfish the gas side but it should't out fish it 25 lbs vs. 2 lbs. Thinking that the warmer rain last week finally got them going up the river.

Water was stained, cleared up a little from last week. Water temps were 50-51 degrees, up from 46-48 last week.

The fish still seemed to be still near the winter spots but a few have moved up in the coves. I guess the bigger fish move up first, that's why the weights jumped up. Going back for another tourney this Saturday and we are already planning on making changes to our game plan. It's going to be hard to get much over 24 pounds because of the 2 over 20" limit on the lake.
I expect 22-24 pounds will be norm for a while.

Will be there next Saturday 3/21, Townsend Sunday 3/22 and be at Jordan at Farrington the next Saturday 3/28 and then Randleman again on Sunday 3/29.

That will be my last time at Randleman until August 22. :(

Just FYI 3/23 is not Saturday. Perhaps you meant 3/21. :D

I bought new batteries for the jonboat but I'll have to miss this one as I'll be gas-side on Sat 3/21. Randleman will be a very ... very ... busy lake this coming weekend it seems.

I work the weekend of 3/29. Conceivable I could get out for a couple hours after work on Saturday but unlikely. Hope you do well this weekend, Mike. I think you usually do from what I have heard ;) I hope to do the same on the gas end... Linda will be fishing with me and she really wants to win something this weekend.
